Madeline Triffon is Director of Wine for the Matt Prentice Restaurant Group,a Detroit-based independent restaurant company. She is responsible for the development of the beverage programs in the company’s 3 fine-dining rooms,which include Coach Insignia, Northern Lakes Seafood Company and the NoVI Chophouse. Madeline coordinates food and wine events and serves ascorporate wine educator.
She is one of 105 professionals who have earned the title Master Sommelier in North America. Madeline was the first of 16 American women, and the second woman in the world, to have passed the M.S. exam.
Santé magazine named Triffon Wine and Spirits Professional of the Yearfor 1999. Restaurant Hospitality awarded Triffon their Vanguard Award in 2002 for industry leadership and vision. In 2008, WCR (Women Chefs andRestaurateurs) awarded Triffon their Golden Goblet Award for “Women Who Inspire”. In 2010, Cheer Magazine distinguished her with their “Raising the Bar”award.
For the past several years, the Wine Spectator has awarded its Award ofExcellence to three MPRG wine lists: NoVI Chophouse, Northern Lakes and Shiraz. Since the restaurant’s opening, Coach Insignia has received the coveted Best of Award of Excellence.
