In these troubled times, we want to make it as easy and cost effective as possible for you, our valued and prospective customers, to continue enjoying our superb collection of single owner, guaranteed provenance, mature, classified growth Bordeaux. We have held our prices relatively flat and also, due to numerous requests, have decided to offer our wines in single bottle quantities in addition to our previous three, six and twelve bottle formats. As always, the shipping and delivery charges are included in our prices. We encourage you to take advantage of this unique flexibility by ordering assorted bottles to obtain the lowest overall price. The Wine Trust continues to provide all wines under our unique combination of very special features: ? Purchased en primeur ? Single ownership ? Guaranteed superb condition and provenance ? Competitive prices ? Shipping costs included ? Very favorable credit terms ? Available in full, half and quarter cases, and now single-bottle quantities. ? Mixed orders receive the appropriate lower prices. My very best wishes and hopes for more promising days ahead. Richard Bakal, Executive Director Go >>

The Wine Trust Story
The Wine Trust, headquartered in Ridgefield, Connecticut, is a world-class collector and steward of the finest Bordeaux wines. It is dedicated to continuing the standards of care and attention employed by the grape growers and vintners who cultivate and create these extraordinary wines. Originally conceived as a private collection in the European tradition for the founding family in the early 1970s, The Wine Trust has consistently purchased only the most superlative wines en primeur, directly from long-established negotiants, and then applied exacting and comprehensive care to each bottle during its long maturation, to ensure the ideal conditions necessary for achievement of the highest level of enjoyment. Today, wines from The Wine Trust Collection are recognized and sought after for their assured quality and pristine provenance by truly discerning retailers, restaurants, hotels and individuals with an appreciation for fine Bordeaux.
Chateau Lafite Rothschild

The vineyard was at one time owned by Alexander de Segue, proprietor of Ch‰teaux Latour and Calon Segur. Lafite became public property in 1794, after the owner (the President of the Parliament of Guyana) had been guillotined in the Revolution. After the property changed hands a few more times, the Rothschild family acquired it at auction in 1868 and remain the owners today. Robert M. Parker, Jr. on the 1988: ?Extremely concentrated, with brilliantly focused flavors and huge tannins, this backward, yet impressively endowed Lafite-Rothschild may well turn out to be the wine of the vintage!?
