Far From Ordinary is the largest Australian wine promotion ever held in the USA.

The Far from Ordinary campaign brings the experience of Australia to life through sight, sound, smell and taste. From the rogue to the refined, audiences will discover Australian wine through a program of events and retail promotions from the East to West coast.

The multi-channel integrated campaign will connect more than 100 Australian wine producers with thousands of key USA trade and media for a celebration of Australia wine.

Supported by the Australian Government’s $50 million Export and Regional Wine Support Package (the $50m Package), the Far From Ordinary campaign: Aussie Wine Month will feature a six-city trade roadshow, educational seminars, the Australian Women in Wine Awards, media events, importer/distributor networking opportunities, in-store and online retail promotions and a multi-sensory immersive consumer activation.

Key Programming Elements

  • Trade Tasting - Wine Australia’s Trade Tasting allows US wine importers, distributors, wholesalers, sommeliers, buyers, educators, media and influencers to try 500+ wines from 100 brands per city.
  • Seminars - Educational seminars with topics revolving around Australian Wine Discovered modules.
  • Made Our Way Theatre - Educational seminars with a regional topical focus presented by Wine Australia’s sponsorship partners held in a non-traditional setting.
  • Australian Wine Discovered Lounge - lounge-style activation showcasing Australian Wine Discovered, Wine Australia's free education program, providing information, tools and resources to discover and share Australian wine.

Australia Decanted
In its second year, Australia Decanted will deliver an immersive, targeted wine education program to 100 wine trade and media from across the USA.

Australia Decanted has been carefully curated, and is by invitation only.

The four-day event, featuring seminars, tastings and breakout sessions will be the finale to the largest wine promotion ever held in the USA.

Sixteen winemakers from regions across Australia will team up with an all-star panel of USA wine industry leaders to present an exciting range of topics designed to showcase the people and stories that make Australian wine unique. Offered alongside a culinary program curated by James Viles of Biota Dining, guests will receive an in-depth exploration of how Australian wine, food and culture intersect.

Australia Decanted aims to challenge and change perception, drive desire and increase demand for Australian wine among key influencers and encourage stronger engagement with the USA wine community.

US Importers are invited to attend a unique networking opportunity at Decanted. Meat & Greet provides the importer community a rare opportunity to connect and build relationships with attendees in an informal setting.

The Far From Ordinary campaign will be big, bold and, as its name suggests, far from ordinary. It will drive awareness of Australian fine wine across social and digital media channels, and through strategic media partnerships with key USA titles. All activities will be underpinned by the Australian Wine Made Our Way brand platform, which celebrates the authenticity and diversity of Australian wine and the strong bonds of camaraderie in our wine community.
