New Managaers for Tanduay

Just weeks into its first official launch in the U.S., TANDUAY Asian Rum announces the appointment of four Key Account Managers (KAMs) to guide sales and promotional efforts in the Southern Florida & Connecticut markets. Managed by Beacon Beverage Imports, the experienced team is comprised of two KAMs per region—one for off-premise accounts and one for on-premise.

 “We want to communicate to our retail partners that we are committed to developing and fostering Tanduay’s presence in the U.S. market,” said David Stringfellow, President of Beacon Beverage Imports. “By appointing key account managers to each of the markets, we are offering a point-of-contact that will be at their disposal for materials, education and promotional and sales support.”

In the Connecticut area, Jean Erickson will spearhead off-premise brand development and Mari Carrion will lead on-premise.  Within the south Florida region, Jerry Vasco will manage on-premise activity and Carlos Betancourt will direct off-premise. The team will assist the distributor sales force by coordinating on-site tastings, leading brand education initiatives and supporting marketing efforts within their corresponding markets. 

 “Though Tanduay has been in business in the Philippines since 1854 and is the second-largest selling rum in the world, it is still very new to the U.S. spirits industry,” remarked Steve Raye, Managing Partner of Brand Action Team, the brand’s marketing/PR agency of record. “By the appointment of these four KAMs, we aim to better educate consumers, retailers, and on-premise staff and management about this silky smooth rum.”

TANDUAY Silver Asian Rum is aged for up to 5 years in charred oak barrels prior to blending and filtering, boasting a palate of coconut with hints of custard. TANDUAY Gold Asian Rum is a blend of rums aged up to 7 years and presents flavors of vanilla and tropical fruits. Both expressions (40% abv/80 proof) are available in 750ml for a SRP of $19.99 in Southern Florida and Connecticut.
