NEW YORK, NY (March 20, 2012) – On the heels of South by Southwest, Wines of Chile will be a part of several different events during the week of March 19, 2012. The various events will allow Wines of Chile to introduce and promote the technological advances being made to its Facebook game, ‘Terroir Hunting’, a game that allows participants to virtually experience what it takes to produce your own Chilean Wines.

The week of tech-focused events will begin with an article featuring Wines of Chile’s Terroir Hunting on Next Web, the online hot spot for all of the latest news and trends in the online world. On Tuesday, Wines of Chile will talk Terroir technology with the most influential in the industry, as they sponsor Tech Tuesdays at the Tribeca Grand Hotel. Wines of Chile will then be co-hosting #winechat with Fred Dexheimer on Wednesday, a virtual wine tasting on twitter that brings imbibers together with the hashtag, “#winechat”.

The second half of the week will include a private, live tasting on Thursday at the Thrillist Headquarters in Soho, where they will also provide a demo of the new advancements made to the Terroir Hunting Facebook game. On Friday, Wines of Chile will launch its new Facebook promotion to highlight the updated Terroir Hunting. “We love that Facebook has provided the opportunity for our consumers to learn about the winemaking process through the virtual vineyards on Terroir Hunting”, Lori Tieszen, Executive Director of Wines of Chile USA comments.

Wines of Chile hopes the technological outlets being used for these events will lead consumers in the online community to try out Terroir Hunting for themselves. Tieszen goes on to say, “We are very excited about the technological advances to our game, and we can’t wait to show them off this week at all of our events.”
